Warriors beat: Team ready to bounce back after loss

Team ready to bounce back after loss

The Warriors and Grizzlies took the day off Wednesday, with their emotions twisting in opposite directions.

Everybody expected us to go undefeated in the playoffs, I guess.

Nobody expected us to lose a game at home, Warriors power forward Draymond Green said after Memphis tied the Western Conference semifinal series 1-1 on Tuesday night.

The whole world has collapsed, and the Bay Area has just been hit by an earthquake.

Memphis has made the playoffs five straight seasons, twice knocking off the Western Conference’s top seed.

Green said he’s getting Twitter hate and being warned about coming to Memphis after he inadvertently hit Mike Conley in the face, eight days after the Grizzlies’ point guard had facial fractures surgically repaired.

Green reached in to try to grab the ball and grazed Conley in his protective mask.

The officials reviewed the play as a potential “hostile act,” but didn’t call a foul.

Memphis head coach Dave Joerger watched a replay at halftime and wouldn’t comment postgame.

Bounce back?: Thompson had almost as many made field goals (six) as turnovers (five) in Game 2.
